In Literacy, we have continued to spell words with the long /i/ but this week we focused on the (i,ig,igh) sounds. In reading, we have been working on making predictions and forming questions. In writing, we focused on presenting information in a poster.
In Numeracy, we have been learning to subtract a two-digit number from a three-digit number using an empty a number line and partitioning. This week Royce and Anna are sharing our learning with you and I have included a google slide to aid discussion at home. We have also been busy working with money. We have been making amounts up to £20, playing interactive games and designing our own toy shop.
Our film study this week focused on a group research project. Each group selected a topic and created a poster. We have been using google classroom and google docs this week to complete a variety of learning tasks. We are getting very quick at independently logging onto our Chromebooks!
Next Week
Primary 4 are very proud that they worked with a partner to plan some exciting Christmas activities for next week. Our full plan will be shared on our google classroom but here are some important details:
Monday – children can wear pyjamas to school and bring in an extra snack to watch a pre-recorded Pantomime in the afternoon.
Tuesday – children can bring in gadgets and/or games to play with in the afternoon. The children are aware that they need to ask for permission from an adult at home and that the school cannot accept any responsibility for any damage caused to their property. We do have a variety of games in school that will be available for anyone who is unable to bring in items from home.
This week we are proud of:
Mirren, Carmen and Mia are proud of their spelling.
Noah is proud of his basic facts.
Anniyah and Daniela are proud of working on the Chromebooks.
Ella is proud of her money work.
Robert, Angel, Finlay, Pippa, Royce and Oihane are proud of playing P.E games.
Jemma enjoyed watching the movie.
