Week 7

In Literacy, we have been very busy spelling words with the long /i/ sound.  In reading, we have been focusing on the comprehension strategy – visualisation. We have been reading a variety of unseen texts and answering a range of questions. We have been using our imagination to create our own comic book.

In Numeracy, we have been learning to add a two-digit to a three-digit number using an empty a number line. This week Naomi and Daniela are sharing our learning with you and I have included a google slide to aid discussion at home.

Our film study this week focused on the artistic style used in the animation. We compared the colours used in the animation to other Pixar animations. We drew an image from ‘Brave’ and designed it in the style of ‘Toy Story’. We discussed the relationship between Merida and her mother. We enjoyed creating short role-plays in small groups.

We are very happy to finally share our beautiful winter art work with you. We created unique snowflakes to surround our wintery tree pictures.

This week we are proud of:

Zander, Mirren, Noah and Daniela are happy about their basic facts.
