Week 6

In Literacy, we have been very busy spelling words with the long /e/ (y,ie,ei,ey,e-e) sound.  In reading, we have continued to focus on the comprehension strategy – making connections. Some of the reading groups have had the opportunity to carry out some research on a chrome book and complete a fact file.

In Numeracy, we have been focusing on the strategy round and adjust. This week Angel and Robert are sharing our learning with you and I have included a google slide of the addition and subtraction strategy to aid discussion at home. We have started to solve number and word problems by selecting the most appropriate strategy.

We started explored seasonal Scottish food this week. We have been discussing the benefits of buying local produce. We created seasonal Eatwell guide plates by selecting foods from a calendar. This was great fun and we learned a lot about food grown in each season. We have started to create a winter art scene using paper, paint and crayons. We will share the finished product with you next week!

This week we are proud of:

Harry, Mia and Mirren are proud of their numeracy assessment.

Emilia is proud of her spelling sessions.

Royce, Robert and Pippa are proud of taking part in a P.E game.

Angel is proud of playing bench ball.

Noah is proud of his catching skills.

Anniyah and Daniela are proud of drawing a self-portrait in art.

Jemma is proud of her winter trees.

Ella enjoyed decorating our class Christmas tree.

Have a great weekend
